Crown Chakra
Activating, opening and returning to oneness
The dice now has landed on the Crown Chakra. This is the square of light, stillness, and vast perspective in the ancient wisdom game of Gyan Chaupar.
It feels like perfect timing. Lately, I’ve been following the colour purple — in clothes, in symbols, in quiet signs. And now, here it is again: a cosmic wink. A gentle confirmation.
The Crown Chakra, or Sahasrara, sits at the top of the head. In yogic understanding, it is our bridge to the infinite. It represents unity, pure awareness, and the subtle knowing that we are not separate, but one and the same thing. We are part of something much larger. You are not alone. You never were.
The Crown Chakra is associated with silence, space, trust, and surrender. It element is thought beyond thought and consciousness itself.
Where the lower chakras ground us in form, the Crown invites us to dissolve into wonder, into presence, into peace. Not through effort, but through letting go.
But what does that really mean, day to day?
It’s not about being detached from life. It’s about seeing the whole — and remembering that we are more than our fears, our roles, our plans.
It's about trusting life, even when it doesn’t make perfect sense.
The Crown Chakra asks us:
Can I surrender control without giving up agency?
Can I sit with the mystery and allow beauty to unfold in its own time?
The game of Gyan Chaupar places this chakra at the top — the square in the top line not so far from moksha, or liberation. But it is not an escape. It is a return to wholeness and to the essence of the Truth.
Mantra for the week:
"I am held by something greater. I surrender. I trust."
As usual, below are our 4 thoughts and 2 questions about The Crown Chakra.
4 thoughts on the Crown Chakra
From Rumi
You are not a drop in the ocean. You are the entire ocean in a drop.
From Thich Nhat Hanh
Enlightenment is when a wave realises it is the ocean.
From Caroline Myss
The soul always knows what to do to heal itself. The challenge is to silence the mind.
From Jalal al-Din Rumi
Silence is the language of God, all else is poor translation.
Two questions about the Crown Chakra
Where in my life can I trust more and control less?
What helps me feel connected to something beyond my thoughts?
This week, I invite you to spend time with stillness. Let your thoughts soften. Let purple guide you. Maybe light a candle. Take a longer pause. Gaze at the sky. Whatever helps you remember that you are connected.
With purple threads and quiet awe,
Vineeta
